What is DTF (Direct-to-Film) Printing?

DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing is a modern decoration method that produces vibrant, detailed, and durable full-colour designs on a wide variety of products. Instead of printing directly onto the item, your artwork is first printed onto a specialist transfer film using high-quality inks. A heat-activated adhesive powder is then applied before the transfer is cured and professionally heat-pressed onto the finished product.

Artwork Requirements

Providing good-quality artwork is one of the most important factors in achieving a professional finished product.

Preferred File Formats

For the best print quality, we recommend:

• SVG
• AI (Adobe Illustrator)
• EPS
• PDF (Vector)
• High-resolution PNG with a transparent background

Vector artwork is always preferred because it can be resized without losing quality.

Minimum Image Resolution

If you're uploading a raster image (PNG or JPEG), it should be:

• At least 300 DPI
• As large as possible
• Not stretched or enlarged from a small original

Low-resolution images cannot be improved and may produce blurry or pixelated prints.

Transparent Backgrounds

PNG files should have a transparent background unless a coloured background is intentionally part of your design.

Avoid screenshots or images with white boxes behind logos.

Fonts

Whenever possible:

• Convert fonts to outlines before exporting vector artwork.
• Alternatively, include the font files if requested.
• If you cannot supply the font, we will substitute it with the closest available match if edits are required.

Colours

Please note that colours displayed on screens may appear slightly different once printed due to differences between digital displays and printed inks.

Where colour accuracy is essential, supplying Pantone references or brand colour specifications is recommended.

Logos

Business logos should ideally be supplied as vector artwork.

If you only have a PNG or JPEG version, we'll assess whether it's suitable for printing.

Photos

Photos should be:

• High resolution
• Well lit
• Sharp and in focus
• Original files where possible

Images downloaded from social media are often compressed and may not print clearly.

• Screenshots
• Images copied from websites
• Blurry photos
• Pixelated logos
• Low-resolution graphics
• Microsoft Word artwork
• PowerPoint artwork
• Images taken from Google Images
• Artwork with watermarks

How long does production take?

Production times vary depending on the product and order size. Current lead times are shown on each product page.

We have a 7 day return policy on items eligible for a return* , which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

We do recommend sending any items back using a tracked service, as PrintPeel&Stick will not be held responsible for any returns that get lost in the mail. 
Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately with photographs if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

*Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, which includes all vehicle graphics and gel badges, as these are made to order. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on clearance items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
